A board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Rivas maintains a private practice affiliated with TopLineMD Alliance in Miramar, Florida. An expert in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS), Dr. Rivas is a certified Davinci Surgeon in gynecological pelvic surgery and has extensive training in prolapse surgery, vaginal pelvic reconstruction, and advanced incontinence surgery for stress urinary incontinence. Dr Rivas cares for both routine and high risk pregnancies, as well as basic infertility.
Dr. Rivas commenced his educational journey at Miami Dade Community College (Miami, Florida), where he obtained an Associate in Arts degree (1990). In 1995, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Florida International University (Miami, Florida). after obtaining his medical degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico in 1999, Dr. Rivas returned to the United States to complete the Fifth Pathway Program at New York Medical College (2000). He then joined St Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, for his residency in obstetrics and gynecology (2001 – 2005). During his tenure at St. Luke’s, he trained in urogynecology with Dr. Vince Lucente (2004-2005).
Subsequently, Dr. Rivas received board-certification in obstetrics and gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
