    Cavities can be prevented by limiting consumption of carbohydrates to three times daily. Snacking must be on low carbohydrate foods such as nuts, vegetables, eggs, meat, and fish. This does not include potatoes or corn or fruits. During the three main meals, you can eat as much carbohydrates as you want. You also need to brush daily, floss daily, have your teeth professionally cleaned twice a year, and have your teeth checked yearly by a dentist. These habits will prevent cavities.     The process of replacing a missing natural tooth with an implant involves multiple steps. Typically, the fixture is allowed to fuse or “integrate“ to the bone for several months, but in some situations, the fixture can be restored with a fabricated tooth immediately. However, when this is done the tooth cannot be used to chew for several months. Typically, the fixture isn’t restored with a crown for several months.     Teeth move through bone. Some types of movement take less time than others. For example, tipping or rotating teeth is easy and fast. Sweeping and entire root bodily through bone takes much more time. The large molars in the back of the mouth have large, multiple roots and move slowly whereas lower incisors have small roots and move much faster.
