Dr. Abdulhamid is a neurosurgeon specializing in the diagnosis, management and treatment of disorders of the brain and spine. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Iowa State University prior to earning his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. subsequently, he completed his internship in general surgery, as well as, his residency, including a full year acting as a chief resident, in neurological surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He then finished an additional year of fellowship training in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery with the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Abdulhamid provides consultation in the fields of neurosurgery and spine surgery. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, including intraoperative 3-D image guidance and stereotactic techniques, Dr. Abdulhamid has been able to treat a wide variety of conditions of the brain and spine with greater precision, thus, resulting in increased safety to his patients, as well as, faster recovery time. His interests include minimally invasive and complex spine surgery with intraoperative image guidance and navigation, artificial cervical disc replacement, degenerative conditions of the spine, deformity correction, tumors of the brain, spine and spinal cord, and stereotactic radiosurgery.
Dr. Abdulhamid sees patients, including international patients, in his office at Arizona Brain and Spine Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
