Does methimazole cause hypothyroidism I am just curious and does it stabilize tag levels?

Yes, it does but on a prolonged timeline so depending on how long you going to be on it you will be monitored. You just have to monitor the T4 levels and TSH and then the dose could be adjusted to keep your euthyroid.
