“Is coughing blood a sign of cancer?”
Last night I had a severe cough and I saw traces of blood in my phlegm. Could it be a sign of something serious?

Not necessarily. It can be the result of a tearing force from forceful coughing. There are many other reasons for blood when coughing. There are factors to take into consideration such as history of smoking, age, amount of blood, frequency, etc. In any case, always consult with your doctor for a better answer.
