It can get a little muscle sore and if you were in pain to start yes. If you had zero pain before an adjustment you should have little to non after the adjustment
It is common to have some soreness after an adjustment that dissipates usually within a day. It is good to use ice or a natural pain cream if you have Soreness. If you are noticing a moderate or severe increase in pain. I would advise to consult with the chiropractor to recheck you.

Patients respond differently to adjustments. Depending on your presenting problem, an adjustment may irritate the soft tissues of the back and neck. Please continue to discuss the pain with your chiropractor and continue to follow their treatment plan. The initial irritation passes within a few days and you should begin to feel better as your adjustments begin to stabilize your spine. Discuss the use of ice and or heat with your chiropractor. Additional changes in diet and exercise will also improve your condition and overall inflammatory load.
Hello there,

Although most people do not experience pain after an adjustment, it is possible to be sore after the first adjustment or two. Post-adjustment, muscles are working much differently, and just like when you have not exercised in a while, your muscles may ache a little bit.
At the start of chiropractic treatment, it's possible for your back to feel sore. However, this should not continue after a few treatments. If that's the case you should talk to your chiropractor so they know what's going on and can recommend some home care. It's good to walk for about 10-15 minutes immediately after an adjustment and avoid strenuous activities for a day or two following. Sometimes a cold pack over the area of concern or a warm bath is recommended.

There is a difference between soreness and an injury. I tell my clients that they may feel some soreness after an adjustment, but not an "oh I hurt myself" pain.
Since Chiropractic adjustments are changing the mechanics and alignment of the spine, you may be sore for a couple of days after treatments.
