My daughter is 2 years old and she is not talking yet. What causes a speech delay?

There are all kinds of things that can result in speech delay. In the last few years, Covid caused several children to have delays in speech and language development. With that said, other things such as ear infections can also result in delays. It's best to contact a speech pathologist and discuss with them how they can best help you.
Sometimes it can be due to a speech condition known as apraxia, where the brain does not communicate with the muscles when you want them to, or the speech delay cause can be unknown. Either way, a speech language pathologist can help to determine the best treatment options for your daughter
