Can a child get high grade fever without any traces of infection in the body?

Yes, although most fever in children is caused by an infection, including rapidly resolving infections that seem to come without and other signs, sometimes fever can be caused by non infectious diseases. Any fever that persists for more than a few days should be evaluated by a doctor.
