How is congestive heart failure treated?

I am a 57 year old male and I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. How is congestive heart failure treated?

The treatment depends on the condition that is causing the congestive heart failure. Having said so, fluid restriction, salt restriction and medications such as beta-blockers, angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitor, angiotensive 11 receptor blockers, diuretics etc etc. In each of these categories of medications, there are several medicines. Your cardiologist will select what is right for you. Taking daily weights, being very mindful of your food composition and intake is important. Daily exercise only as prescribed, helps in the long run.
I hope this is helpful.
Unless there is a valve problem that needs surgery, mostly congestive failure is treated by drugs - fluid pills, ACE inhibitors and sometimes beta blockers. It can be very effectively managed.
