Dr. Jachtorowycz is a board certified gynecologist-obstetrician who is a fellowship-trained specialist in the field of female pelvic floor medicine and reconstructive surgery.
In collaboration with Amita Health, he is the Director of the OB-GYN Residency Program at AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center Hoffman Estates. It is a program with 24 positions, which is the evolved combination of AMITA Health Saint Francis Hospital Evanston OB-GYN Residency and AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center Chicago OB-GYN Residency.
Credentialed and experienced in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, his practice concentration focuses on management of female pelvic floor disorders and urinary incontinence. Dr. Jachtorowycz also provides consultation and care for general gynecologic conditions and offers many minimally invasive alternative treatments for common female health issues.
Passionate about his responsibility to explain all available options for therapy, he also makes recommendations for treatment based on the best available evidence and the individual’s personal goals, preferences, and priorities. He considers both trusted and time-tested treatments as well as newer, innovative choices to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Having established himself as both a clinician and an educator, Dr. Jachtorowycz serves as a mentor to medical students and residents. He holds a professorship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
A 1983 graduate of Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, Dr. Jachtorowycz subsequently did his residency training at Loyola University in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. He then trained in pelvic surgery-oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Subsequent to his education, he attained board certification in obstetrics and gynecology & female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Having achieved Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (COEMIG) Accreditation, Dr. Jachtorowycz is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
