At the age of 12, Dr. Bickel made the decision to become a dentist. Growing up, he had severely overcrowded teeth. He required several extractions, including his wisdom teeth and extra front teeth known as mesiodens. He also needed extensive orthodontics on two separate occasions.
Through it all, he was treated with kindness and compassion from his general dentist, orthodontist, and periodontist. All of them had such a positive impact, not only on his smile and oral health, but on his confidence as well.
With roots in Eastern Washington, Dr. Bickel attended Eastern Washington University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. He then continued his education at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he excelled and graduated in the top 10% of his class.
Before becoming a dentist, he honed his skills as a dental lab technician, where he became well-versed in fabricating crowns and other dental restorations.
Having always been a huge advocate of continuing education to ensure patients are receiving the best treatment available, Dr. Bickel attends continuing education courses on a monthly basis.
In addition, he is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Washington State Dental Association.
