An experienced transplant surgeon, Dr. Simon is affiliated with the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Simon earned her medical degree from University College Cork Faculty of Medicine in Ireland in 2002. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her internship and residency in general surgery at Rhode Island Hospital, and her fellowship in transplant surgery at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in general surgery and transplant surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
As for her academic appointment, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Tufts University School of Medicine.
