Get to know Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Dore Elizabeth Robinson, who serves patients in Illinois.
A fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist, Dr. Robinson practices at Duly Health and Care, operating out of the offices in Oak Lawn and Orland Hills, Illinois.
Specializing in primary care sports medicine and non-operative orthopedics, she has a special interest in knee injuries, arthritis, as well as injury prevention. She also treats everything from concussions, fractures, sprain/strains, overuse injuries, tendinitis, and work related injuries, to neck, back, hip, shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist, hand, foot, and ankle conditions.
“My philosophy of care is to treat each patient as a whole, rather than just treating a symptom. My goal is to help augment the body’s ability to heal itself, and to identify and modify any factors which may predispose to injury. As an athlete myself, I am familiar with the unique demands that sports place on an individual, and treat injuries with empathy and compassion. I believe the best treatment strategies involve a multidisciplinary approach centered around the patient” expressed the doctor.
Back in 2008, Dr. Robinson graduated with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to perform her residency in family medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center, and her fellowship in sports medicine at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.
A member of the American Academy for Sports Medicine, she is board-certified in sports medicine and family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. It is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.
In 2011, Dr. Robinson received the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Resident Teacher Award.
