Upon graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Biochemistry from the University of Wales College of Cardiff in 1991, Dr. Vadgama went on to earn his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at University College London in 1996. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1999.
Furthering his training in the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at UCLA-VA Greater Los Angeles in 2003, where he was voted Resident of the Year for three consecutive years. He followed this up with a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center until 2006.
Board certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine, Dr. Vadgama is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
In addition, he is board certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM). The ABSM is a nonprofit organization that certifies physicians, PhDs, specialists, and technologists in the specialty of sleep medicine.
