Nelson, a certified adult-gerontology nurse practitioner, practices at HonorHealth Gastroenterology – Shea in Scottsdale, Arizona. His specialization lies in gastroenterology, with a focus on hepatology, weight loss, and LGBTQ health.

Originally from New Jersey, he began his educational journey at La Salle University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree with a focus on Registered Nursing in 2011. Subsequently, from 2016 to 2018, Nelson pursued and completed a Master of Business Administration Degree with a specialization in Health/Health Care Administration/Management at South University. 

Furthering his education, he obtained a Master of Nursing Degree with a concentration in Adult-Gero Nurse Practitioner from South University in 2020, followed by a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from Arizona State University – Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation in 2023..

Board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board, Nelson offers more than a decade of nursing experience in transplant, critical care, and gastroenterology. He is considered a strong advocate for the underserved community. 

A Certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP-C) is a nurse practitioner who holds certification and specializes in continuing and comprehensive healthcare for adults across the lifespan from adolescence to old age.

Outside of medicine, Nelson enjoys his time with his two kids and dogs. He speaks English and Spanish.
