Get to know Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Gal Levy, who serves patients in Texas.

Dr. Levy is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiothoracic surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery with a focus on robotic-assisted thoracic surgery, including lung cancer surgery, esophageal surgery, and thymectomies. 

In addition to thoracic surgery, she performs open heart surgery as well such as coronary artery bypass surgery, aortic and mitral valve surgery, and surgery on the aorta.

A UTMB Health provider, Dr. Levy provides her services at the following locations: UTMB Health Cardiovascular/ Thoracic Surgery, Galveston & UTMB Health Thoracic Surgery, League City Campus. She also performs rib fixation and has started a rib fracture clinic with UTMB.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Levy graduated with her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 2008. She then went on to perform her residency in general surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2015, her fellowship in advanced thoracic surgery at Swedish Cancer Center in 2016, and her fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in 2018.

With expertise reigning heavily in the world of heart disease, the doctor is board-certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS). The ABTS is an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest.
