Autism is a developmental disorder that manifests during childhood. Symptoms vary. Autism may manifest with shyness or slow learning or communication difficulties or socialization difficulties. Treatment is very important. Management is multidisciplinary. An experienced child psychiatrist may prescribe specialized medication aiming to improve certain aspects. A child psychologist can engage with cognitive developmental therapy over time. A social worker can engage and facilitate social development and friendship development. Exercise routines are very beneficial. Parent encouragement and affirmation is essential over time. Music is proven to help. Reading aloud helps. Schooling must include an specialized assistant to the child and care to minimize and avoid negativisms that might spring up. So yes autism can be helped and should be handled by all of these.
