Can you treat a herniated disc without surgery?

I have a disc hernia. Can you treat a herniated disc without surgery?

This really is question of what can be regarded as treatment. Herniation itself won't be cured once it happened. Non-surgocal treatment such as chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy can alleviate symptoms of herniated disc.
We treat disc protrusions ( herniations) on a regular basis. X-rays and MRI scans are mandatory. Depending on the findings, we have had excellent results with non-surgical spinal decompression.
Absolutely, they heal on their own, but it takes awhile and requires patience.
Most of the time Chiropractic care can treat disc herniations successfully without the need for surgery. Our office has helped many people recover from disc herniations without the need for surgery. If you have any questions, make sure you take a copy of your MRI and most recent X-rays to a chiropractor ASAP.
Most disc herniations can be treated without surgery. However, if you have a sequestered disc causing cauda equine syndrome, surgery is then necessary. Take care and be well. Dr. Eric Miller-Orland Park, IL
I see a lot of these at my office and it depends on how herniated the disc is. See a chiropractor to help you
