Anything that is not chewy, crunchy, sticky or hard
Soft, sugar free food. Otherwise, you’ll break brackets. Most orthos charge for broken brackets. Plus, you can get white and brown spotting around the brackets. That’s not pretty.
Having braces is a good start to having a beautiful smile. But there are foods you need to avoid to prevent orthodontic emergency such as: any hard and crunchy food ( almonds, ice, popcorn, chips, toasted bread, etc……) . Also you have to avoid hard and chewy caramel ( loly pops, hard candy, gummy bears, etc…..) . One last thing you should avoid is eating with your front teeth like an Apple, hard cookies, raw carrots, etc… . The Orthodontist will give some guidance of foods you can and can not ear once you start orthodontic treatment.
Yes you can eat with braces. Preferrably avoid gum, candy, sticky foods. Always have an extra toothbrush with you, brush 3 times a day and buy a waterpik.
A great and simple rule is nothing chewy, sticky or hard.

Not gum, hard candy, ice, beef jerky, Jordon almonds etc. Use common sense and follow the orthodontist’s instructions
