My friend is 71 years old. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Is Alzheimer's disease treatable?

Yes, new medications are being made available very often.
This is a neurodegenerative disease. The management of the disease makes a difference in the quality of life of the patients but there is no easy treatment to address the cause of the degeneration.
Various research protocols but nothing that is FDA approved to change the pathological findings in neurons
Currently there is no effective treatment for dementia.
