What have you done to help overcome your symptoms of fibromyalgia?

I have tried medications, exercise, and many other things over the years. I also rest when things get too bad. Life with fibro isn't pretty, for any of us, so we have to do the impossible to keep going. I also find, if I sit down and chat with a friend, it keeps my mind away from the pain for a short time.

What inspires you to push the pain aside?

My faith in the 'God' above helps me daily. I love to sit out in the sun and watch the birds fly by. This distracts my mind from everyday activities. I also have a wonderful companion to be by my side, her name is 'Ginger Rogers.' She is a 'rag-doll' 10-year-old kitty, and her colors are ginger & white. She's my baby, and I love her dearly.

Fibromyalgia shouldn't have to stop you from achieving your goals. What do you wish to achieve, despite your disease?

Yes, it did stop me from doing a lot of things. I couldn't work because of all the time I missed feeling so bad. One good thing now is people with Fibro are entitled to a 'Disability Cheque'. Thank God, and now you can look ahead, instead of looking back. Get your own place and live.
